St. Charles Inn - Hotel Superior

Had an excellent stay here. Great customer service, the manager was very accommodating to a request we had. The hotel itself is quite charming, rooms and halls were clean, gated free parking lot in the back was important to us, providing more peace of mind for our vehicle although there is street parking right there. Price was good on the night we stayed. Keep in mind many other hotels charge significant money for parking so when you consider safe free parking when comparing different hotels for room plus parking the St Charles Inn was a no brainer especially since the hotel was quite nice. As other reviewers mentioned, the Street Car stop is very close, about a block and a half. We rode it all the way to Bourbon street and also the next day rode it the opposite direction simply to sight see, admiring the architecture of the city. 24 hour Street Car ride pass only $3 each, can't beat it. There's a mexican restaurant connected to the hotel, which we didn't have the opportunity to eat at but it looked great and of course is convenient. If we return to New Orleans, this hotel will be the first I look up for availability to return to.

After a considerable search for a hotel that offered free parking (when available) chose this Garden District boutique hotel. Could not have asked for more regarding price, service, location, cleanliness. A very short walk from streetcar/tram stop and after a 20 minute fun trip you can step off streetcar/tram literally at Canal @ Bourbon Street (Carondelet) and start of French Quarter .....

Not in the French Quarter, but right on the trolley line - 20-30 minutes away. Lots of restaurants close by. We'd stay there again.

Very nice 4⭐Hotel on St Charles Street in Garden District of NOLA. Limited parking, handicap entry in back, nice lobby with friendly smiling folks. One small elevator. Lobby overlooks street, as does part of restaurant & a patio. Neighborhood feels safe compared to quarter. Lots of people walking, jogging, & with dogs on sidewalks. Two sinks in room, nice touch, but shower is in Tub, & has only one grab bar by the facet, not on long wall. Plenty of supplies.

After staying near Bourbon Street for a few days, I needed a break from the chaos. With a big UFC fight happening in town and hotel prices skyrocketing in the French Quarter, my husband and I decided to switch things up and head to the Garden District. We chose The Saint Charles Inn—and it turned out to be a great decision. The hotel was super clean, the service was excellent, and it offered something that’s almost unheard of in New Orleans: free parking. The location is ideal—quiet, charming, and with easy access to the trolley, making it simple to get anywhere in the city without the noise and crowds. As a bonus, Superior Grill, located right in the lobby, was fantastic for dinner. Great food, great atmosphere, and super convenient after a long day exploring. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a peaceful, affordable alternative to the French Quarter without sacrificing location or comfort.

This hotel was a dream stay for my last visit to NOLA in October 2025. It was quiet and clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Over 4 nights, I probably slept better than I have in months! The location was great and the convenience of the restaurant/bar downstairs was a nice benefit, but the easy in and out self parking was the best feature of all. I will definitely be back!

Everything about our visit at the St. Charles Inn was lovely. Customer service exceeded my expectations. The room was comfortable and clean. The location was convenient to the French Quarter and the airport. We felt safe walking around in the evening. Parking was easy. The restaurant attached was the busiest I’ve ever seen in a hotel. The food and service was great too. This will be my first choice when visiting the Garden District in the future.

My husband and I were in NOLA for a wedding celebration and stayed at this hotel. Very Clean, quiet, staff was outstanding, food excellent, right on the trolley line! When we come back we will definitely be staying here. Jada was above and beyond, she is an extreme assist to the hotel.
